Exploring Injury Mechanisms
By Jurdan Mendigutxia (ZENTRUM Rehab and Performance) et al.
Neuromuscular responses of the hamstrings and lumbopelvic muscles during unanticipated trunk perturbations.
Unexpected trunk flex can potentially increase STRAIN and BF moment arm through its close relationship with pelvic movement.

Multifactorial individualised programme for hamstring muscle injury risk reduction in professional football: protocol for a prospective cohort study
By Jurdan Mendigutxia (ZENTRUM Rehab and Performance) Johan Lahti, Juha Ahtiainen, Luis Anula, Tuomas Kononen, Mikko Kujala, Anton Matinlauri, Ville Peltonen, Max Thibault, Risto-Matti Toivonen, Pascal Edouard and Jean Benoit Morin.
INTRO:
Hamstring muscle injuries (HMI) continue to plague professional football. Several scientific publications have encouraged a multifactorial approach; however, no multifactorial HMI risk reduction studies have been conducted in professional football. Furthermore, individualisation of HMI management programmes has only been researched in a rehabilitation setting. Therefore, this study aims to determine if a specific multifactorial and individualised programme can reduce HMI occurrence in professional football.
A master class with Jurdan Mendigutxia: Hamstring Rehabilitation
By Jurdan Mendigutxia (ZENTRUM Rehab and Performance) in collaboration with The Sportsmap NetWork.
This Masterclass is a 2 part series, each 45 minutes in length, providing viewers insight into the overall framework, programming and structure of Jurdan’s approach to hamstring injury rehabilitation. These educational videos are made up of the most clinically relevant key take away messages from Jurdan’s full day Masterclass course filmed at the Essendon Football Club.
Sprint versus isolated eccentric training: Comparative effects on hamstring architecture and performance in soccer players
By Jurdan Mendigutxia (ZENTRUM Rehab and Performance Center), Filipe Conceicão, Pascal Edouard, Marco Fonseca, Rogerio Pereira, Hernani Lopes, Jean-Benoıt Morin and Pedro Jiménez-Reyes.
The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of hamstring eccentric (NHE) strength training versus sprint training programmed as complements to regular soccer practice, on sprint performance and its mechanical underpinnings, as well as biceps femoris long head (BFlh) architecture.
